Improving Obstetric Outcomes
According to the World Health Organization, one of the hallmarks of a successful civilization is the overall health and well-being of pregnant women and their newborns. Although maternal–fetal health has improved over the past century with advancements in medicine, the United States continues to experience steady increases in perinatal morbidity and mortality, particularly over the past 30 years. Studies show that a significant percentage of these adverse perinatal outcomes are preventable with the implementation of standardized training, tools, and processes. This program helps participants identify and analyze the most common perinatal risks, and it offers risk-reduction strategies, evidence-based best practices, and resources designed to improve obstetric outcomes.
