Reducing the Risk of Resident Falls in Senior Care

Falls are a serious risk management concern and a leading contributor to morbidity and mortality for nursing home residents. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, every 20 minutes an older adult dies from a fall in the United States, and many more are injured. Falls can result in disability, poor quality of life, reduced function, and more. This program focuses on the factors that contribute to falls in senior care facilities, as well as strategies for assessing and mitigating fall risks.
